ITINERARY:
♦ Day 1 - Wed., Dec. 26: Depart Dulles International Airport. Late morning pilgrim Mass at St. John's, then travel to Dulles by charter bus. Fly overnight with meals served on board.
♦ Day 2 - Thurs., Dec. 27: Milan - Turin - Milan
Arrive in Milan. Visit the grave of St. Gianna Barretta Mola at the Cemetary of Mesero (based upon early morning arrival) and then bus to Turin and see Frassati, Bosco, Savio. Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady Help of Christians in Turin. Bus back to Milan for dinner.
♦ Day 3 - Fri., Dec. 28: Milan - Pavia - Bologna - Rome
Visit the Basilica of St. Ambrose (Mass) and then bus down to visit Sts. Augustine & Boethius in Pavia, then to Bologna to visit St. Dominic at Basilica of San Domenico and the Church of Corpus Domini to see St. Catherine of Bolgona. Finish the drive to Rome. Check in to hotel and dinner at a nearby restaurant.
♦ Day 4 - Sat., Dec. 29: Rome
Early Departure. Visit the Basilica of St. Lawrence and then to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore for 9am Mass, then to St. Peter in Chains and the Basilica of San Clemente. at 1:20 we visit the Colosseum, then the Basilica Santa Francesca Romana, the Basilica of Sts. Cosmas and Damien, Chiesa del Gesu and the Basilica di Santa Maria in Trastevere.
♦ Day 5 - Sun., Dec. 30: Rome
Early start with 7:30am Mass at the tomb St. Peter followed by free time to pray and explore the Basilica, and even climb the 500+ steps to the dome of St. Peter’s and quick lunch. We then visit the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls. We then visit St. John Lateran, Basilica Santa Croce in Gerusalemme, Scala Sancta and Chiesa Sacro Cuore del Suffragio and the museum of the Holy Souls of Purgatory, followed by dinner and over-night in Rome.
♦ Day 6 - Mon., Dec. 31: Rome
Start the day by visiting teh Catacombs of St. Callixtus, followed by a visit to the the Church of St. Cecilia and then Mass at Chiesa Nuova. We then visit the Pantheon, eat lunch and enjoy Fr. Ray's walking tour of Rome, which includes stops at Santa Maria in Vallicella, Santa Maria sopra Minerva, Sant’ Ignazio, San Silvestro in Capite, Trevi Fountain, St. Monica, Basilica of Sant’ Agostino followed by dinner in the Piazza Navona area, and then a visit to the Church of Mary Magdalene for a Divine Mercy Chaplet before heading to the NAC for a Holy Hour, Confessions and fireworks.
♦ Day 7 - Tues., Jan., 1: Rome - Nettuno - Monte Cassino - Mugnano del Cardinale - Pompei
Depart Rome by 7:30am. Bus to Maria Goretti in Nettuno and then bus to Monte Cassino to visit Benedict and Scolastica, then to Mugnano del Cardinale to see St. Philomena, then to Pompei to the Madonna del Rosario Sanctu-ary and Bl. Bartolo Longo.
♦ Day 8 - Wed. Jan., 2: Pompei - Pagnani - Salerno - Materdomini - San Giovanni Rotondo
Begin the day with St. Alphonsus Liguori in Pagnani and then travel to see St. Matthew and Salerno, then to St. Gerard Majella in Materdomini, then to San Giovanni Rotondo for dinner and overnight.
♦ Day 9 - Thurs., Jan. 3: San Giovanni Rotondo - Lanciano - Manoppello - Loreto
Visit Padre Pio Shrine and Monte San’Angelo (Cave of St. Michael), then bus up the Adriatic Coast to Lanciano for the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano, then to the Holy Face Sanctuary in Manoppello and then to Loreto for dinner and overnight.
♦ Day 10 - Fri., Jan. 4: Loreto - Osimo - Assisi
Start the day visiting the Holy House in Loreto, travel to Osimo for St. Joseph of Cupertino (patron saint of students) and lunch at Osteria Moderna (included in cost). Then bus to Assisi to visit St. Mary of the Angels Basilica and spend time in Assisi before and after dinner.
♦ Day 11 - Sat., Jan. 5: Assisi
Visit the Basilica of St. Clare and the Basilica of St. Francis followed by free time in Assisi and farewell dinner.
♦ Day 12 - Sun., Jan. 6: Departure
Return flight from Rome to Dulles and charter bus from Dulles to St. John's.
